Thanks to Festival Performers Old-timers and First-timers

The Fall Folk Festival is now in its 12th year . The following performers have been at the festival from the beginning: Dan Maher, The Angus Scot Pipers, Spokane Valley Highland and Scottish Country Dancers, The Occasional String Band, The Spokane Storytellers League, Mitchell Frey and Michael & Cindy Moon Bear. Please thank them for being such dedicated and wonderful supporters of the festival.

Welcome Newcomers

            Aaron & Tonio & the Afterthoughts (Saturday Noon) – fiddle and bluegrass music. Aaron Castilla (age 11) took 11^th at the National Fiddle Contest in Weiser, Id. Tonio Castilla is an excellent mandolin player. Backup musicians (Jackie McIntrye-Fox, Pat Foster and Jim Shamp)

Carl Allen (Seattle) (Saturday 3:30 p.m, Sunday 1 p.m) - Woody Guthrie ‘s 20 grow big songs – children’s songs and other campfire favorites.

Argentine Tango-Spokane (Saturday 11 a.m.) Dancers, Anne Marie Burk and Dick McDonald will demonstrate classic salon-style and performance style Argentina tango. Victor Smith will narrate and talk about the history of tango.

Back Adit (Libby, Mt) (Saturday 4:15) 4 piece band performing eclectic folk jazz and swung

Bluegrass Spectators (Sunday 1:15) bluegrass, gospel, old-time, country and Texas swing

Bridges Home (Sandpoint) (Sunday 3:30 p.m.) brings a rich tapestry of songs from around the world with rich vocal harmonies and intricate instrumental accompaniment..

Che oke’ten (Paul Wagner) –(Seattle,WA) (Sunday Noon) Native American flute player

Dick Frost –magician (Saturday 4:30, Sunday Noon) a wholesome magic show with puppets and audience participation

Gefilte Trout (Pullman) (Saturday 6 p.m.) klezmer/gypsy

Stan Hall & Jackie McIntryre-Fox (Sunday, 12:30 p.m.) - singer songwriters performing a variety of original songs

        International Folk Dance with Karen Wilson-Bell (Saturday 4 p.m.) . Learn a variety of beginning folkdances from around the world

Mark Matthews (Saturday 6:30 p.m.) (Missoula) New England contra dance caller and author . His recently published his second book, A Great Day to Fight a Fire: Mann Gulch 1949, which will be on sale at the festival. His first book Smoke Jumping on the Western Fireline: conscientious objectors during World War II will also be available. :

Molly & Tenbrook (Sunday 2:45 p.m.) – bluegrass and gospel featuring the haunting harmonies of Dannie Lynn Plummer and Kelly Bogan.

Johnny Moses and Paul Wagner (Saturday 4 p.m.) share the beautiful and ancient Native American traditions of the Coast Salish peoples through story telling and songs on the flute

Musaique (Pullman) (Sunday 1:15 p.m.) acoustic swing and jazz

Don Opsal (Sunday 4:15 p.m.) - acoustic guitar – Celtic and alternative tunings

Panhandle Polecats (Saturday 3:45 p.m.) – family band playing bluegrass, with a heapin’ helpin’ of gospel and fiery mountain tunes with a dollop of country, old-time, western and a dab of the blues for good measure

Robby Parker – oud player – songs from the Near East

Sesitshaya Marimba Band (Moscow, Id) (Saturday 6:30 p.m.) a community band who plays traditional and contemporary songs and shares the lively rhythmic sounds of the Kwanongoma marimbas of Zimbabwe

Danny Smith (Ione, WA) (Saturday 2:45 p.m.) yodeler and singer/songwriter

Soileau-Li Family Trio (Sunday 3 p.m.) family folk band playing music from along the Silk Road – China, Tibet, Russian and the Balkans

Son Dulce (Saturday 7 p.m.) salsa band in the Cuban Son style and Mambo style of New York

Stevens County Stompers (Colville, Wa) (Saturday 6:15 p.m.) kids and adults perform traditional Appalachian clogging

Turner Sisters – bluegrass and more (Saturday 11:45 p.m.)

Wanderers – (Seattle) (Saturday 5 p.m.) folk revival Woody Guthrie tunes, Bill Murlin and Carl Allen have been singing together for 49 years

Whis.stem.men.knee (Johnny Moses) (Sunday 12:45 p.m.) – master storyteller of the Coast Salish peoples - shares the beautiful and ancient wisdom of the Si-Si-Wiss (Sacred Breath/Sacred Life)

Wide River (Saturday 3 p.m.) above and beyond the call of bluegrass

Wild Oats (Sunday 4:15) folk country band specializing in 3-part tight female vocal harmonies
